Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Firefighter/EMT to join our team at Frederick County Fire & Rescue. As a Firefighter/EMT, you will be responsible for responding to emergency incidents, providing firefighting, medical, and rescue services, and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to emergency incidents and provide firefighting, medical, and rescue services
• Suppress fires and protect lives and property in emergency situations
• Provide emergency medical care to the sick and injured
• Maintain and inspect firefighting equipment and fire stations to ensure operational readiness
• Operate emergency vehicles and apparatus during emergency responses
• Complete reports and documentation to ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures
• Engage with the community, including volunteer fire personnel and the public
• Participate in regular training and inspections to stay current with department standards

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Entry-level position, no prior experience required
• Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license and have held it for at least 2 years
• Age: Must be 18 years or older
• Physical and mental strength to perform physically demanding tasks and remain calm under pressure
• Strong communication skills to effectively communicate in high-stress situations
• Team-oriented and willing to work closely with a diverse group of colleagues and volunteers
