This is a full-time position at the YMCA of Southwest Florida, supporting the organization's mission to strengthen community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. As Payroll and Benefits Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll information, benefits administration, and compliance reporting.

Key Responsibilities

">
  • Payroll Processing: Supervise payroll applications, research and resolve questions from managers and employees regarding payroll information, communicate with the Director of Human Resources to ensure payroll data integrity, and prepare payroll reports for review and approval.
  • Benefits Administration: Manage staff benefits, process enrollments, work with employees on benefit-related issues, including COBRA, and administer employee medical leave.
  • Compliance Reporting: Submit regulatory reports as directed (MWS, BLS, EEOC, OSHA 300, Form 5500), distribute relevant reports to managers, and work with Finance to ensure proper job cost allocation and GL account mapping in software.
  • Additional Duties: Work directly with benefit brokers, coordinate annual open enrollment meetings, ensure timely and accurate worker's compensation claims reporting, aid in training supervisors on procedures to ensure compliance, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A broad knowledge of wage and hour laws and Human Resources practices.
  • Three to five years of payroll experience.
  • Computer literacy of word and spreadsheet software, recordkeeping, and bookkeeping principles.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accurate data entry skills.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A 'can-do' attitude, proactive, and resourceful approach.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with employees at all levels within the organization.

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience. Additionally, we provide opportunities for professional growth, a dynamic work environment, and a comprehensive benefits package.
