Job Description

The Assistant Branch Manager will oversee the Freight Forwarding Operations departments, including Import, Brokerage and Export, at the Vancouver, WA branch. The successful candidate will have knowledge of all aspects of the Freight Forwarding industry and will be responsible to assist the Branch Manager with the overall direction and performance of the branch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Freight Forwarding Operations Team to ensure efficient and effective operations
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures for Freight Forwarding Operations
  • Train and develop Freight Forwarding Team members
  • Negotiate contracts and transportation costs
  • Liaise with third parties to move goods
  • Resolve issues or discrepancies with customers and freight carriers
  • Coordinate US Customs Brokerage
  • Work closely with customers, colleagues and third parties to ensure smooth operation
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years' Manager or Supervisory Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' Freight Forwarding experience
  • Proven leadership capabilities
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrated experience interacting, developing and maintaining customer relationships
  • Proven success in improving quality, service, safety and client relationships
