Roofer Job Description

A union roofer at Roofer's Local 149 can repair, replace, and install roofs on commercial or industrial buildings. We specialize in various types of roofing, including PVC, TPO, EPDM, hot applied built-up roofing, and cold applied built-up roofing.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Moving and lifting roofing materials
  • Removing old roofing systems
  • Laying new roofing materials
  • Installing insulation materials
  • Cleaning rooftops by removing snow, ice, and other debris

Required Qualifications:

The position is extremely labor-intensive and requires each employee to complete an apprenticeship program. Successful candidates should be able to work well with their hands and power tools. This job also requires the ability to handle extreme climate conditions. A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.


Physical Requirements:

Lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for long periods of time are essential duties of this role.
