About the Role

As a Maintenance Associate within our Semester Program at Simmons Foods, you will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects that can have a lasting impact on the organization. This program encourages cross-functional relationships with other departments and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create a continuous improvement culture to improve processes and drive out waste.
  • Develop and implement quality performance that meets or exceeds all line, department, facility, company, and USDA/FDA guidelines or grading process for a total quality program and customer relations.
  • Participate as a member of the Team, fostering strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues, and accept responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness.
  • Be familiar with Simmons' established operating systems, understand the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems, and communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
Requirements
  • Must be able to work on feet for multiple hours, work in various temperatures, and the ability to lift a minimum of 10 pounds.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles, willingness to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and preferred experience in manufacturing or poultry.
  • In process of completing a technical certificate, associates degree, bachelor's degree, and/or 2 years of related experience.
