The Physical Therapist is responsible for delivering medically prescribed physical therapy services aimed at alleviating pain, restoring functionality, and preventing disabilities resulting from various health conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Assessment: Conducts initial evaluations and ongoing assessments to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Therapeutic Programs: Develops individualized therapy programs utilizing a range of physical modalities, including exercise, manual therapy, and electrotherapy, as directed by the referring physician.
- Patient Education: Instructs patients on the proper use of mobility aids and therapeutic exercises to enhance their recovery and independence.
- Equipment Utilization: Employs various therapeutic equipment and techniques, including ultrasound, diathermy, and whirlpool treatments, to facilitate patient rehabilitation.
- Collaboration: Works closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and may supervise assistants and aides in therapy sessions.
- Training and Development: May engage in the training of medical and nursing students in physical therapy practices and objectives.
- ACLS certification is mandatory for specific units.
- BLS certification is required for general medical-surgical and orthopedic units.
All traveling therapists may be required to float to different units within their expertise as needed. The facility is equipped to handle a wide range of clinical services and is recognized for its comprehensive trauma and critical care capabilities.
