Pediatric Surgeon Job Description
At Bon Secours Mercy Health, we are seeking a skilled Pediatric Surgeon to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. This exciting opportunity offers a challenging and rewarding career path for an experienced surgeon looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children.
About the Position
We are looking for a Board-Certified Pediatric Surgeon with excellent surgical skills and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing preoperative, operative, and postoperative care to pediatric patients ranging from newborns through teenage years.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other pediatric providers to diagnose and determine if surgery is necessary.
- Manage and perform preoperative, operative, and postoperative care.
- Provide a mix of patient appointments and surgical time.
- Perform a range of procedures, including appendectomies, biopsies, pyloric stenosis repairs, hernia repairs, cholecystectomies, incision and drainage, device implants, tracheotomies, exploratory laparotomies, and bowel resections.
Requirements
- Board Certification in Pediatric Surgery or General Surgery with additional training in Pediatric Surgery.
- Current medical licensure in the state of Virginia.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
