Job Title: Assistant/Associate Professor and Chair, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic leader to join our team as Assistant/Associate Professor and Chair of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at New York Institute of Technology's College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing on-campus teaching in the specialty field of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and overseeing the medical student education by the clinical faculty within the discipline at the Arkansas campus site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and refine the on-campus curriculum specific to OMM, including creating and managing department budgets and participating in annual campus budget meetings.
  • Oversee the clinical faculty who are teaching at the Arkansas campus site in OMM, including assessing their performance, work-related issues, work effort allocations, and areas for improvement.
  • Recruit and hire new faculty members to meet the needs of the institution and the Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine department.
  • Complete formal annual faculty evaluations for reappointment and promotion committee.
  • Support the Mission of NYITCOM by participating in outreach and/or community service activities of the college, including Health Fairs, Free clinics, and local or Regional Outreach that involves students and/or the NYITCOM Mission.
Qualifications:
  • D.O. degree from a COCA-approved school of osteopathic medicine is required.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible is required.
  • Current, unrestricted Arkansas State Medical License is required.
  • Completion of residency training with AOA board certification or CSP-OMM / NMM certification required.
  • Preferred 5 years' experience in an academic setting/medical school setting with successful demonstration of educating medical students and other health/science-related students.
