Agronomy Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Agronomy Intern to join our team at Central Region Cooperative. As an Agronomy Intern, you will assist our agronomy sales staff with various tasks, including weed and pest scouting, operating equipment, and attending plot days and sales meetings.

• Assist agronomy sales staff with weed and pest scouting and monitoring seed and chemical warehouse inventory.
• Operate forklift and other equipment as qualified and trained.
• Attend plot days, sales meetings, and team meetings to stay informed and contribute to discussions.
• Visit producers with sales staff to build relationships and provide support.
• Assist in the collection of field plot data and learn about agronomy products and services offered by Central Region Cooperative.
• Represent yourself and the cooperative professionally at all times in action and appearance.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and with teams, adhering to safety policies and procedures.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Enrolled in a two or four-year college program.
• Valid driver's license.
• Availability to work extended hours during peak seasons.
• Computer and data entry skills.
• Ability to follow directions and effectively communicate with others.
• Agriculture background preferred but not required.

• Ability to lift 75lbs., climb ladders and/or rail cars, stairs, and bins.
• May also be required to work in confined spaces.
• Must be able to work near fertilizer dust and during inclement weather.
• Must be able to perform all physical requirements of the position.
