Frye Regional Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Medical Intensive Care Unit team. As a Medical Intensive Care Unit RN, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and utilizing your specialized plan-of-care intervention to shape exceptional patient journeys every day.
About the Role
As a Medical Intensive Care Unit RN, you will be working in a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for:
- Providing direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Performing plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
- Documenting patient care given.
- Monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assisting patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborating as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluating learning needs of patient and/or family and providing patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Working as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Adherence to all core measure initiatives, patient safety goals, and NQF Safe Practices.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Current state RN license
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school
- Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire
- ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire
- One year of experience preferred
- ASLS certification preferred
Required Skills
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
