Job Summary:

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Float Med Surg nurse. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, and implement individualized nursing care for patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, ensuring timely and effective communication with the healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Participate in unit quality assurance activities, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to the development of evidence-based practices.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.

Requirements:

  • Minimum two (2) years recent Med/Surg experience in an acute care setting.
  • Minimum one (1) year of Progressive Care, Intermediate Care or Step-Down or Telemetry Unit experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided) required at hire.
  • Computer keyboarding skills.
  • Experience in acute care, utilizing the nursing process, effective problem solving and communication skills.
  • Previous health care experience.
  • Bachelors degree in nursing or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years recent Med/Surg experience in an acute care setting.
  • Progressive Care certification.
