Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

Job Summary:

Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of aircraft, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and leading a team of maintenance personnel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aircraft maintenance, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Maintenance Team: Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance personnel, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Maintenance Planning: Plan and schedule maintenance activities, including routine maintenance, repairs, and modifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that maintenance work meets regulatory standards.
  • Training and Development: Provide on-the-job training and coaching to maintenance personnel to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with maintenance personnel, management, and other stakeholders to ensure that maintenance activities are aligned with organizational goals.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with relevant regulations, including those related to safety, security, and environmental protection.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of spare parts and materials to ensure that maintenance activities are not disrupted.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze reports on maintenance activities, including metrics on efficiency, quality, and cost.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Certifications: A&P certification required; other certifications, such as FAA certification, may be beneficial.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Working Conditions:

Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to noise, dust, and other hazards. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a team environment, with flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
