Electrical Systems Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at Parsons Corporation. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical systems, access controls, and other technologies along highways and roads.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain electrical systems, including raceways, wiring, and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues, including those related to access controls and other technologies.
  • Inspect and test electrical equipment to ensure it is functioning properly.
  • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards.
  • Control traffic passing near work zones.
  • Follow safety rules and regulations, including those of OSHA.
  • Determine the tools and equipment needed for a job and operate equipment as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical systems installation and maintenance.
  • Valid electrician's license in Virginia.
  • Experience working with voltages up to 480v.
  • Familiarity with electrical construction practices, including threading, bending conduit, and pulling/removing wire.
  • Ability to follow directions and complete job tasks.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to understand installation manuals for various types of equipment.
  • Ability to identify, communicate, and isolate electrical hazards.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs for short distances.
  • Ability to work on uneven terrain.
  • Must be able to work independently and flexible hours with possible rotational on-call as needed.
  • Ability to properly hear and understand or interpret verbal job site instructions and perform such instructions in English.
  • Must be able to pass Parsons and client background check and drug screening.
  • Driver's license required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Virginia Work Zone Safety certification.
  • Ability to enable safe handling and use of all equipment assigned.
  • Previous experience with typical computerized office systems, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to follow directions to complete various job tasks.
  • Previous experience working with Transportation Technology systems is preferred but will provide training.
  • A CDL license and previous Fiber Optic experience are preferred but not required.

$46.35 - $81.11
