Position Overview

We are looking for dedicated laboratory research associates/assistants to contribute to our expanding consumer genomics and ancestry testing services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Execute comprehensive standard operating procedures in a high-throughput laboratory environment, focusing on sequence library preparation and DNA quality assessment.
  2. Perform various DNA molecular techniques, including isolation, PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, and NGS.
  3. Utilize automated liquid handling systems for efficient library preparation and quality control.
  4. Generate, analyze, document, and report findings, ensuring high-quality data is produced promptly.
  5. Identify and troubleshoot issues, proposing solutions or seeking assistance as needed.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace.
  7. Adapt to evolving SOPs and workflows as laboratory throughput increases.
  8. Manage the pressures of tight deadlines while upholding data integrity.
  9. Be open to flexible working hours, including weekends if required.
  10. Exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple detailed tasks effectively.
  11. Assist in the management of supply and reagent inventories.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, or a related discipline.
  2. Proven experience with molecular techniques such as DNA isolation, fragmentation, PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, and NGS library preparation.
  3. Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  5. Experience in maintaining accurate and comprehensive laboratory records.
  6. Ability to work independently, including data analysis, interpretation, and quality assurance.
  7. Proficiency in standard software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  8. Capability to thrive in a dynamic start-up atmosphere with a positive and professional demeanor.
  9. Experience in a high-throughput molecular laboratory or service environment is preferred.
  10. Familiarity with automated liquid handling systems is advantageous.
