Cardiology Nurse

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Cardiology

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiology team in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process, overseeing other assigned team members and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide population-specific care in accordance with BORN regulations and professional standards of care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned patients.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process.
• Oversee other assigned team members and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide population-specific care.
• Current MA RN license required.
• Minimum of 1-2 years nursing experience required.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• Bachelor degree in nursing, preferred.
• Demonstrated clinical competence and experience as required by the specific job posting.
• 2 years Critical Care experience required, procedural experience preferred (Cath Lab, IR, OR) unless otherwise noted in job posting.
• Moderate sedation experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPR Training required within first 3 months of employment.
• Evidence of continued education and professional development.
• Certification or advanced training in specialty area preferred.
• Previous interventional radiology and/or electrophysiology experience required; proficiency in IV catheter insertion and IV sedation in an acute procedural setting preferred.
• BLS/ACLS certification required. PALS within 6 months.

Work Environment:

The RN works in a variety of patient care environments where there may be exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials such as chemotherapeutic agents, radioisotopes, and radiation.

Caring for patients also involves exposure to human waste and other unpleasant elements. Other duties may include general cleaning with exposure to dirt, odors, cramped quarters, etc. RN's may work with angry, agitated, and combative patients.
