Allina Health is a not-for-profit health system that cares for individuals, families and communities throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin. As a Patient Care Technician, you will provide basic direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician. This includes taking and documenting vital signs, answering call lights, assisting patients with activities such as daily living and transfers, and other clerical duties.
Key Responsibilities:
• Observes, collects, and documents health status data as assigned.
• Performs personal care/interventions as assigned, including assisting patients with activities of daily living and maintaining skin integrity.
• Performs clerical duties and assists with patient registration, including processing physician orders and documenting relevant patient information.
• Contributes to an environment that is safe for patients, visitors, and employees, including protecting patients, self, and others from injury during transfers, lifts, and transports.
Requirements:
• Must meet one of the following requirements: 18 years of age or 17 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
• Must meet one of the following requirements: completion of one semester of clinical rotations with an accredited nursing program, successful completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, completion of the Allina Health Nursing Assistant Academy Program, NREMT certification upon hire, or previous direct patient care experience.
• Must meet one of the requirements below: current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, current BLS certification from the American Red Cross, or Allina in-house BLS training within 30 days of hire.
Physical Demands:
• Medium Work*: lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally, up to 25 lbs. frequently.
