School Nurse Substitute

We are seeking a qualified School Nurse Substitute to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing nursing care to students and staff, as well as maintaining accurate health records.
Responsibilities- Collect and maintain accurate health records for students and staff.
- Evaluate student complaints of illness and make decisions about utilizing the nursing process.
- Administer first aid to students and staff.
- Monitor compliance with immunization requirements.
- Notify parents when students need to acquire additional vaccinations.
- Report immunization data to local and state levels as appropriate.
- Make referrals to health agencies when necessary.
- Assist in school health screening programs.
- NM Public Education Department School Nurse License or eligibility.
- Current NM R.N. Licensure.
- Associates Degree or greater required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Current First Aid and CPR Course (verified).
- Experience working with students preferred.
- Computer data entry/word processing skills preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information and records.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective communication and relationships with students, parents/guardians, staff, and supervisors/administrators.
The School Nurse Substitute will work in a fast-paced school environment, interacting with students, staff, and parents. The successful candidate must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
