Job Overview

As a Lift Attendant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of elevator services within our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include:

  • Managing the flow of individuals and deliveries in and out of the building.
  • Opening and closing elevator doors at designated floors to assist passengers.
  • Ensuring the safety of all passengers while entering and exiting the elevator, including the ability to halt the doors if necessary.
  • Providing information to users about various locations within the building and assisting them in reaching their desired floors.
  • Transporting small items, mail, and documents between floors.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and general appearance of the elevator and surrounding areas, as well as performing minor maintenance tasks.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service through courteous and knowledgeable interactions.
  • Monitoring elevator equipment to ensure proper functionality and reporting any maintenance needs to management.
  • Collaborating with team members and assisting with freight loading when required.
Work Environment

This position is primarily based indoors, within the elevator areas of a condominium or hotel setting, which may be busy with residents, guests, and service personnel.

Physical Requirements

The role requires physical capabilities including:

  • Occasional sitting, standing, reaching, lifting, bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
Position Details

This is a non-exempt (hourly) role, with work hours determined by business needs, which may vary.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Prior experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents and guests.
  • Basic mechanical skills for minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Sound judgment and quick decision-making abilities in emergency situations.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing in English.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to operate machinery safely.
