Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Greenhouse Worker to join our team at AYS Works LLC. As a Greenhouse Worker, you will be responsible for cultivating crops in a sustainable and organic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Crop Cultivation:
  1. Plant seeds, transplant seedlings, and care for plants throughout their growth cycle.
  2. Monitor environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and light to optimize plant growth.
  3. Water, fertilize, and apply organic pesticides or herbicides as needed.
  4. Prune and trellis plants to promote healthy growth and maximize yield.
Pest and Disease Management:
  1. Implement organic pest and disease control methods, such as introducing beneficial insects or using natural predators to manage pests.
  2. Regularly inspect plants for signs of pests or disease and take appropriate action to mitigate risks.
  3. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the greenhouse to prevent pest and disease outbreaks.
Soil Management:
  1. Monitor soil health and fertility, including pH levels and nutrient content.
  2. Amend soil with organic matter, compost, or other natural fertilizers to maintain soil fertility and structure.
Greenhouse Maintenance:
  1. Monitor and maintain greenhouse infrastructure, including heating, ventilation, and irrigation systems.
  2. Repair or replace equipment and structures as needed to ensure optimal functioning.
  3. Clean and disinfect greenhouse surfaces to prevent the spread of disease and pathogens.
Harvesting and Post-Harvest Handling:
  1. Harvest crops at the peak of ripeness to ensure quality and flavor.
  2. Sort, wash, and package harvested produce according to organic standards.
  3. Properly store harvested crops to maintain freshness and extend shelf life.
Record-Keeping and Compliance:
  1. Maintain detailed records of crop cultivation practices, including planting dates, crop rotations, and pest management activities.
  2. Ensure compliance with organic certification standards and regulations, including documentation of organic inputs and practices.
  3. Participate in regular inspections by organic certifying agencies to verify compliance with organic standards.

Estimated Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 per year
