Position: Assistant Program and Outreach Director (Activities Assistant)
Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday; alternating weekends required
Role Summary:
The Assistant Program and Outreach Director plays a vital role in the daily execution of resident-focused activities that embody the Phoenix Senior Living philosophy. This position emphasizes the importance of wellness across all facets of the lives of the seniors we serve, ensuring that emotional, physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual dimensions are integrated into our offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review the Resident Profile and associated documents for each new resident.
- Facilitate a diverse range of tailored activities that promote wellness, available throughout the day and evening, with the involvement of resident care associates.
- Recognize changes in residents' conditions and take appropriate actions.
- Assist residents in navigating to and from activity rooms as needed.
- In memory care, support residents in participating in Life Skills and other enriching activities.
- Maintain a communication log to document important information regarding residents' physical and behavioral changes.
- Ensure activity areas are kept organized and tidy.
- Assist in the care and maintenance of any animals or plants involved in the activities program.
- Help manage inventory of activity supplies, games, and craft materials.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma required; experience in a senior living environment is preferred.
- Ability to lead activities and inspire volunteers and colleagues to engage in social events.
- Preferred knowledge and experience in the Assisted Living sector and Dementia care.
