At Gates Health and Rehab, we strive to provide exceptional care to our residents. As a key member of our team, the Nurse Manager will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing services.
The Nurse Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the nursing department, ensuring that all nursing personnel comply with established policies and procedures. This includes directing the activities of CNAs/GNAs, providing guidance and support, and ensuring that all nursing services are delivered in accordance with current rules and regulations.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdministrative FunctionsThe Nurse Manager will be responsible for:
- Directing the day-to-day functions of the CNAs/GNAs or other nursing personnel in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care Facility.
- Ensuring that all assigned nursing personnel, including CNAs/GNAs, comply with the written policies and procedures established by this Facility.
- Periodically reviewing the department's policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc. and making recommendations for revisions.
- Providing discipline and evaluations of assigned CNAs/GNAs and other nursing personnel in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the Facility.
- Issuing verbal and written disciplinary warnings to assigned CNAs/GNAs and other nursing personnel for violations of current rules, regulations, and guidelines of the Facility.
- Meeting with assigned nursing personnel, including CNAs/GNAs, as well as support personnel, in planning the shifts' services, programs, and activities.
- Ensuring that the Nursing Service Procedures Manual is current and reflects the day-to-day nursing procedures performed in the Facility.
- Ensuring that all nursing service personnel comply with the procedures set forth in the Nursing Service Procedures Manual.
- Making written and oral reports or recommendations concerning the activities of your shift, as required.
- Cooperating with other resident services when coordinating nursing services to ensure that the resident's total regimen of care is maintained.
- Ensuring that all nursing service personnel comply with their respective job descriptions.
- Participating in the maintenance and implementation of the Facility's quality assurance program for the nursing service department.
- Participating in Facility surveys or inspections made by authorized government agencies, as may be requested.
- Periodically reviewing the resident's written discharge plan and participating in the updating of the resident's written discharge plan, as required.
- Assisting in planning the nursing services portion of the resident's discharge plan, as necessary.
- Interpreting the department's policies and procedures to personnel, residents, visitors, and government agencies, as required.
- Admitting, transferring, and discharging residents, as required.
- Completing accident and incident reports, as necessary.
- Writing resident charge slips and forwarding to the Business Office.
- Performing administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary.
