Role Summary:
As a Physical Therapist at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and education to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics. You will be responsible for screening, testing, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating injuries, diseases, and disabilities using physical therapy procedures and modalities in accordance with standard physical therapy practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains current knowledge of standard physical therapy practices for various patient populations.
- Provides competent services, including treatment, and performs subjective and objective evaluation according to diagnosis, past history, and physician referral.
- Develops a plan of care with appropriate goals and objectives based on patient evaluation.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation for each patient in accordance with regulatory, facility, and department requirements.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff regarding patient needs, abilities, and goals.
- Supervises physical therapy assistants, aides, office staff, and students to ensure consistent high-quality patient care.
- Participates in continuing education opportunities and promotes ongoing learning for staff.
- Contributes to quality improvement initiatives and outcome input.
- Assists with department operational oversight, including scheduling, mentoring, supplies, equipment, and department budgets.
Requirements:
- Current state Physical Therapist license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Clinical background experience in a healthcare setting.
- Basic computer skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
