Responsibilities of an Automotive Coating Specialist:
  • Apply base and clear coatings to the vehicles
  • Sand out any imperfections prior to paint application
  • Prepare surfaces by taping, masking, and applying protective coverings before coating
  • Get the vehicle ready for the buffing station to enhance efficiency
  • Effectively use pressure pots, sanders, and sprayers to accomplish tasks
  • Maintain paint equipment and oversee the baking booth
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by management to fulfill organizational needs
Qualifications for the Automotive Coating Specialist:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in autobody or industrial settings
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Proficient in basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Capability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
