We are seeking a Dedicated Solo Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our team at Ryder in Detroit, MI.

This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to switch from Owner Operator to Company Employee Driver. We will help make the transition easier by buying your truck if needed.

You will be responsible for delivering solo to the Metro Detroit Area and Flint, with a local home daily route. Our trucks are 36 months or newer and include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance.

The benefits of working with Ryder include:

  • Competitive Salary: $1300 or more per week, paid weekly
  • Hourly Pay: $26.78 per hour, 50+ hours per week
  • Bonuses: Alro Tenure Bonus ($1200), Loyalty Bonus ($5000)

Ryder drivers are the captains of the ship, making decisions to keep themselves and others safe while on the job. We also protect your job when you do.

To qualify for this position, you must have a minimum of 21 years of age, pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and DOT physical. You will also need a valid CDL and endorsements for the position.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
