As a Groomer Trainee at PetSmart, you'll have the opportunity to build personal relationships with your clients and become a part of their family. You'll get to know their pets' styles and personalities to create a customized, stylish experience just for them. From the first shampoo to the final strut home, you'll take pride in the services you provide.

Our Grooming Training Program

You bring the passion, and we'll bring the training. Our comprehensive training program will set you up for success. You'll learn about different dog breeds and styling, and gain hands-on experience with our pets. Our experienced trainers will guide you through the process, and you'll have the opportunity to work with a variety of dogs and develop your skills.

  • Stage 1: Bather - You'll start by getting hands-on experience with our pets, learning about safety certification, and developing your skills as a bather.
  • Stage 2: Grooming Academy - After gaining some experience, you'll attend our Grooming Academy, where you'll learn about breed styling, caring for different dog breeds, and get comfortable with tools and clippers.
  • Stage 3: Groomer Trainee - You'll put your new education and skills to work as a Groomer Trainee, working with experienced groomers and learning from them.
  • Stage 4: Pet Stylist in Training - As a Pet Stylist in Training, you'll build relationships with your own clients, advise on styles, suggest new services, and share in the joy of seeing your clients' pets looking their best.
