Key Responsibilities- Certification Requirements: Must possess RNFA certification, enabling the nurse to scrub in and assist during surgical procedures.
- Cardiac Case Expertise: Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in scrubbing all cardiac cases.
- Unit Flexibility: This position will not require floating between units.
- On-Call Duties: On-call availability is necessary, approximately 1-2 times per week.
- Weekend Responsibilities: Weekend on-call duties are required.
- Patient Ratios: Expected patient-nurse ratio is 1:1.
- Special Requirements: Candidates must be capable of scrubbing all cardiac cases and have experience in the operating room.
The RNFA role is designed for registered nurses who have previously worked in the operating room, either as a circulator or scrub nurse. This versatility allows for a comprehensive approach to patient care and surgical assistance. The goal is to integrate RNFAs into the surgical team to enhance efficiency and patient safety.
