About the Role

Hornig Companies Inc is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for responding to work orders, preparing units for new move-ins, and performing preventive maintenance throughout our Minneapolis/St. Paul locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to work orders and perform repairs and maintenance tasks as needed
  • Prepare units for new move-ins by performing routine maintenance and repairs
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to prevent future maintenance concerns in historical and aging buildings
  • Diagnose and repair plumbing and electrical issues, including leaks, faulty fixtures, and electrical malfunctions
  • Repair or replace blinds, closet doors, and other fixtures as needed
  • Communicate with residents regarding repairs in a caring and compassionate manner

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Special Boiler's License or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Valid Driver's License and meet car insurance requirements
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
