Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nutritionist II to join our team at the State of New Mexico. As a key member of our Public Health Division, you will play a critical role in promoting healthy eating habits and providing nutrition education to vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities- Assess participants' nutrition risks and prescribe food packages
- Provide one-on-one and group nutrition education, including breastfeeding promotion and support
- Identify and implement individual care plans for low-risk participants
- Refer participants to other health and social services and provide follow-up
- Document nutrition services provided, including referrals and follow-up
- Bachelor's degree in a social, community, health, education, or nutritional field
- Two years of experience in nutrition services, including direct client care and program management
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Valid driver's license and Defensive Driving Course Certification
This position requires working in an office setting with extensive computer and phone usage. You may be required to drive and lift up to 50 pounds. Potential exposure to communicable diseases and moderate office noise, heat, cold, and smells.
