Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty Social Work Instructor to teach undergraduate social work courses in the Department of Social Work at Texas Southern University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach classes in the Social Work Department, delivering a set curriculum and identifying at-risk students and campus resources to address barriers to student success.
  • Connect students with supportive services, such as the Student Accessibility Services Office, campus tutoring, and the Counseling Center.
  • Submit student progress reports, midterm grades, attendance reports, and final grades on time.
  • Collect and report data required for the Social Work Department Assessment and Strategic Plan.
  • Attend required university, college, and departmental meetings and trainings.
Requirements
  • Master's degree (MA/MS/AM/MASW/MSSW/MSW) from a CSWE-accredited social work program.
  • Minimum of one year of professional social work practice or teaching experience.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Cultural awareness and ability to work with diverse faculty and students.
  • Comfortable using email and learning platforms, such as Blackboard, and operating desktop computers and LCD projectors.
