Role Overview:

Delivering patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician, while adhering to the professional scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Assists in evaluating patient conditions and ensures their overall health and safety.
  • Administers prescribed medications and monitors patients for any adverse effects.
  • Informs patients and their families about treatment plans, including self-care after discharge, holistic health needs, available resources, and follow-up care.
  • Maintains a vigilant and safe working environment.
  • May conduct point-of-care testing in accordance with established protocols.
  • Performs additional tasks as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensure.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • No prior experience necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Continuous verbal communication is essential for sharing information.
  • Regular standing and walking are required.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling of items weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Regular sitting, reaching, and data entry tasks.
  • Frequent visual acuity for both near and far distances, including color differentiation.
  • Regular olfactory recognition for detecting odors.
  • Frequent auditory skills for receiving verbal communication and identifying sounds.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling of items weighing between 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional patient handling and mobility assistance.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, and other physical movements.
  • Occasional driving may be required.
  • Rare crawling and running activities.
