Job Summary:

Atrium Health is seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a CT Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing all duties associated with the acquisition, processing, and submission of CT images for interpretation. You will also be responsible for the care of patients while in the CT Scan Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Position patients and formulate techniques to demonstrate cross-sectional anatomy of interest based on accepted radiographic principles.
  • Judge diagnostic quality of finished medical images prior to submission to radiologists for interpretation.
  • Perform venipuncture for administration of radiopaque media and assist in obtaining informed consent as appropriate.
  • Review all diagnostic imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information provided.
  • Take verbal orders from providers as needed and enter appropriately in RIS system.
  • Prepare and maintain records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Assist, communicate, and consult with radiologists. Work independently outside the department with providers.
  • Observe patients during radiologic exams for change in status and make appropriate intervention or contact primary care givers for instruction.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and mentoring for other personnel assigned to the area in which they are working.
  • Identify and correct problems as appropriate with all critical occurrences reported to the next level of authority.
  • Utilize supplies and equipment in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Maintain all required continuing education and applicable certifications for modality.

Requirements:

  • High School or GED Diploma Graduate.
  • Graduate of AMA, JRC, or Regionally Accredited approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT Registered or Registry eligible through the ARRT.
  • ARRT CT registry required in accordance with Work Instruction EMP 8.
