Job Overview
">We are seeking a skilled Diesel Equipment Repair Expert to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of diesel-powered vehicles.
">About the Role
">This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, refrigeration units, and other equipment as needed.
">Responsibilities
">Your primary responsibilities will include:
">- ">
- Performing preventative maintenance on diesel equipment, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements;">
- Diagnosing and repairing complex issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and electrical systems;">
- Inspecting and maintaining all safety-related components, such as air brakes and wheel bearings;">
- Completing thorough documentation of all work performed using our online Enterprise Asset Management system;">
- Training and guiding junior mechanics to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively;">
- Collaborating with other maintenance personnel to prioritize and schedule repairs and maintenance tasks;">
- Performing other related duties as assigned by management.">

Requirements
">To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
">- ">
- A high school diploma or equivalent;">
- At least 3-5 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including PMs, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and refrigeration experience;">
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills;">
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision;">
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.">
