Phlebotomist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Alverno Laboratories. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens, performing laboratory office duties, and processing laboratory specimens.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect blood specimens from patients in a safe and efficient manner
  • Accurately and completely enter patient data into the computer system
  • Process laboratory specimens for testing and/or sending to the central laboratory or reference laboratory
  • Perform limited waived and specified non-waived POC tests as authorized by the Laboratory Director
  • Act as a driver and participate in the on-call rotation in some facilities
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training is required
  • Background in a medical laboratory and/or knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record
