Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Imaging Services to join our team at the University of Miami. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for planning and implementing diagnostic imaging policies, procedures, and services for several departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective departmental operations, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Supervise and coordinate administrative, technical, investigative, and clerical operations to maximize departmental effectiveness.
  • Participate in direct patient care, data reporting, and collection, and develop automated storage for reporting cardiovascular information.
  • Direct clinical research through coordination of studies and performance of information retrieval and manuscript preparation.
  • Provide education and in-services to residents, medical students, fellows, and physicians.
  • Meet JCAHO standards by complying with corporate policy and procedures.
  • Promote teamwork with physicians and all healthcare providers to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction and appropriate resource management.
  • Develop operating and capital budgets for the department and monitor established budgets.
  • Maintain and update policy and procedure manuals for the department.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and evaluate equipment on a periodic basis to provide safe and efficient care and diagnosis for patients.
  • Make recommendations regarding hire, discipline, and promotion of staff, authorize leave and overtime, and evaluate employee performance.
  • Establish and continuously assess the effectiveness of internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Certification in a relevant specialty or field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles.
  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
  • Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate, and/or supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
