Department: VIP Supervisor
Position Overview:
The role involves providing leadership in the precise preparation and dosing of medications, as well as delivering patient-specific drug information tailored to individual needs. This position plays a critical role in preventing and reporting medication errors and adverse drug reactions in accordance with established policies. The pharmacist will foster quality relationships with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families, while actively engaging in ongoing education and providing instruction in relevant areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate drug orders and prescriptions to ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication use.
- Deliver exceptional patient care by optimizing medication preparation and addressing medication-related issues.
- Prepare and dispense medications, provide drug information, and manage medication therapy in compliance with regulations and hospital policies.
- Oversee the activities of assigned support staff, ensuring the accuracy and appropriateness of all medications prepared prior to dispensing.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
Required Skills:
- Pharmaceutical Computer Literacy: Proficient understanding of computer applications used in medication processes.
- Drug Preparation and Dispensing: Demonstrated ability in drug preparation and dispensing, with knowledge of aseptic techniques.
- Medication Management: Expertise in assessing the appropriateness of medications, dosages, and potential interactions.
- Mentoring and Coaching: Ability to train and guide others effectively.

Valid Pharmacist License in Tennessee.
Experience:
Relevant work experience preferred.
Education:
Bachelor's degree required.
