Job Summary:

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Registered Dietitian, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a plan of care for patients based on an assessment of nutritional needs. You will work closely with the healthcare team to provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and families.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a plan of care for patients based on an assessment of nutritional needs
Complete assessments by using physical, clinical, and laboratory data
Check physician's diet orders and communicate with physicians concerning the patient's nutritional care
Complete accurate assessments, including calculations of nutrition requirements and nutrient content of enteral and parenteral feedings
Provide nutrition education through individual and group teaching to patients, employees, medical staff, and the community
Counsel patients and families in good nutrition, including food selection, preparation, and meal planning
Document in the patient's medical record results of nutritional assessment, medical nutrition therapy, recommended and initiated plan of care, results of diet consultation, and recommendations for discharge planning

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or equivalent knowledge
Registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) within 3 months of hire date
Illinois State Licensure as a Licensed Dietitian within six months of hire date for new hires in IL, or Wisconsin State Certification as a Certified Dietitian within six months of hire date for new hires in WI
