Peer Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Coordinator to join our team at Spectrum Health Systems. As a Peer Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in their recovery journey by providing guidance, resources, and a listening ear.

• Recruit and train peer volunteers to support program activities
• Work closely with peer volunteers to plan and implement program initiatives
• Oversee the work performed by peer volunteers and provide guidance and support as needed
• Facilitate volunteer committees and provide recovery coaching to participants
• Perform case management activities, including initial housing, job search, medical services, and social services
• Coordinate continuing recovery referrals and schedule initial appointments
• Demonstrate cultural competency in working with diverse populations
• Maintain and prepare reports as directed
• Assist with crisis management and other emergencies as needed

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• One year of experience in a substance abuse program preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
• Excellent verbal, social, and writing skills
• Ability to use independent judgment to resolve problems and emergencies
• Ability to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary setting

This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week, with a pay rate of $17.00-$18.00 per hour. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.
