Job Summary and Qualifications
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for preparing and administering radioactive chemical compounds, known as radiopharmaceuticals. You will conduct patient imaging procedures utilizing advanced radiation-detecting technology.
You will deliver images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic evaluation. The patient demographic may range from infants to seniors.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing care tailored to the condition and age of the patient.
Preparing stock solutions of radiopharmaceuticals and related materials.
Practicing aseptic/sterile techniques for all procedures.
Operating within the Nuclear Medicine Technologist scope of practice in accordance with policies and procedures.
Adhering to all general infection control protocols and those specific to the department.
Completing necessary documentation accurately and promptly after each case.
Qualifications required:
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist.
Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) certification.
Associate Degree.
