Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess resident care plans, implement interventions and evaluate outcomes related to nursing care
  • Assist with team conferences to develop individualized nursing care plans; assess and document residents' condition and nursing needs; assign team members who have the capabilities and qualifications to meet residents' needs
  • Implement physician's orders; administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and positively with staff, residents and family members
  • Notifies Clinical Manager, attending physicians, and family members of significant changes in a resident's condition, and takes follow up action as necessary
  • Manages medications, supplies, and equipment including ordering, receiving, storing, and disposing of all items in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company software
  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance
  • Document treatments as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations
  • Coordinate nursing care of residents scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments
  • Record and report observations and reactions regarding residents
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Valid RN license in the State of Iowa
  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
