Communication Disorder Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Communication Disorder Specialist to join our team at Albuquerque Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for working collaboratively with other schools staff to provide support services to students with communication disorders.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Cooperate in the development and implementation of the District program of instruction for communication disorders.
- Assist and guide teachers and other staff members in preventing and/or observing, describing and referring suspected and identified speech, language and hearing impairments.
- Provide in-service education and serve as a consultant to teachers and school staff members on topics related to communication disorders.
- Develop and maintain standards of appropriate student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
Estimated salary range is $90,000 - $120,000 per year (dependent on experience). Required qualifications include a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders, completed necessary clinical practicum as part of the Master's degree, and a valid New Mexico Speech Pathology license from the Speech-Language/Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing Board.
