Job Overview: The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the scheduling functions of the nursing division in compliance with state and federal guidelines, ensuring that the nursing personnel are adequately staffed each day to meet the residents' needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to assess staffing needs within the nursing department and provide recommendations.
  • Develop and publish monthly staffing schedules for the nursing team to meet staffing objectives, productivity targets, and budgetary constraints.
  • Manage call-ins and fill positions as necessary.
  • Generate daily staffing reports and assign nursing staff to specific areas, making adjustments as required.
  • Ensure employee schedules are posted at least two weeks in advance.
  • Coordinate make-up shifts for employees who have missed scheduled weekends.
  • Monitor daily attendance to verify accurate timekeeping.
  • Authorize overtime for nursing staff as needed.
  • Maintain attendance records for absences, early departures, and tardiness.
  • Input attendance data into the system, including absences and paid time off.
  • Document changes in employee status and communicate with Payroll and Human Resources.
  • Assign nursing staff to accompany residents to external medical appointments.
  • Maintain an updated directory of employee contact information.
  • Participate in counseling or disciplinary processes as required.
  • Assist in the recruitment process to ensure staffing needs are met effectively.
  • Serve on various committees as directed by the Director of Nursing.
  • Support the management of worker's compensation claims and complete necessary documentation.
  • Track missed hours and alternative duty hours related to worker's compensation.
  • Complete alternative duty forms and assign staff accordingly.
  • Address complaints directed to Resident Care Coordinators or nursing leadership.
  • Assist with medical record scanning as time permits.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
  • A passion for service, a desire for growth, and proficiency in computer applications.
  • Preferred experience of 2+ years in Home Care or related fields.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License.
