Job Title: Radiologic Technologist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in Okauchee, Wisconsin.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures using computed tomography (CT) equipment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with physicians, patients, and other staff members.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate CT equipment to perform basic and intermediate diagnostic procedures, including imaging processing, body, head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, contrast, orthopedic, and extremity scans.
  • Obtain medical history from patients and compare requisitions to physicians' orders to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Position patients and select proper scanning factors, adjusting factors to attain the appropriate images, and provide radiation protection and safety in accordance with regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media under the direction of the Radiologist, and assist in the proper scanning techniques.
  • Post-process images as directed and accurately identify and label images, including patient name, medical record unit (MRU) number, and location or position of scan on all images.
  • Prepare and maintain records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system, and document billing codes of procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges.
  • Identify equipment performance issues and perform equipment quality assurance tests and calibration procedures, reporting malfunctioning equipment to appropriate staff and evaluating new products and equipment.
  • Perform various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
Requirements:
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Computed Tomography (CT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 18 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and basic radiation safety.
  • Competent in IV and venipuncture (if required by facility).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
Working Conditions:

The Radiologic Technologist will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with frequent exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids. Personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.

The ideal candidate will be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.

Clear speech, vision, and hearing are required for this position.
