About the Role:
As an Addiction Counselor III with Alberta Health Services, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality, client-centered recovery-based services to individuals and their families. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing treatment plans, providing crisis intervention, education, and referral services, as well as community stabilization services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide quality, client-focused recovery-based assessment, treatment, case management, crisis intervention, education, and referral services to clients and their families.
- Develop and implement treatment plans that offer the least intrusive and most appropriate services to clients and their families.
- Monitor and evaluate client progress and achievement of recovery goals, adapting treatment as needed.
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with clients, families, government staff, and colleagues.
- Support students and new staff orientation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Addictions or a related field with coursework in addictions.
- Related degree combined with a diploma in addictions or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Eligibility for registration under the Health Professions Act (Alberta) and active registration.
- Authorization/permission under regulation to perform restricted psychosocial interventions and/or restricted activities.
