Job Summary

As a Hematology Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the technical and scientific oversight of testing performed in the area of expertise. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and a commitment to maintaining high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies' requirements, including verification of test procedures, enrollment in approved proficiency testing programs, and resolution of technical problems.
  • Assist in the evaluation of individual competencies and ensure that individuals performing test procedures maintain competency.
  • Perform and manage quality control testing to monitor instrument operation and recognize trends.
  • Update policies and procedure manuals in areas of responsibility and participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with other peer lab sections in the region to enhance quality of testing and maintain standardization.
  • Perform routine and stat analysis as needed to provide accurate and timely results in a 24/7 laboratory operation.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent years of experience and education.
  • Three years' technical experience in a laboratory setting.
