Position Overview

Leidos is seeking a Lead Cybersecurity Assurance Engineer to join our team. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the security and integrity of information systems. A TS/SCI Clearance is mandatory from the start. The selected candidate will engage with Information System Security Officers (ISSO), Engineers (ISSE), and Managers (ISSM) across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF) and relevant Department of Defense and Air Force directives. The role includes preparing and submitting documentation for system certification.
  • Provide expert recommendations and coordination to PACAF personnel for effective management of Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) initiatives.
  • Oversee continuous monitoring and real-time security evaluations of PACAF Ground TACS systems to maintain the accreditation of Command and Control (C2) systems.
  • Implement and uphold cybersecurity policies and procedures as directed by PACAF/A310 and other relevant authorities.
  • Participate in all required training and meetings for ISSO/ISSM as mandated by PACAF/A310.
  • Process Change Requests (CRs) through the appropriate Air Force Program Office and serve on the PACAF/310 C2 Configuration Management Board (CMB).
  • Develop and maintain essential security documentation and system artifacts to achieve system accreditation.
  • Ensure that all PACAF Ground TACS personnel receive annual cybersecurity refresher training.
  • In collaboration with PACAF/A310, initiate protective or corrective actions in response to cybersecurity incidents or vulnerabilities.
  • Prepare Security Assessment Reports (SAR) and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M), providing status updates on certification and accreditation to the Authorizing Official.
  • Upon completion of the Security Assessment Phase, offer accreditation recommendations based on existing risk assessments.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, a customer-focused approach, and project management capabilities.
  • Demonstrate the ability to systematically analyze challenges and devise effective solutions.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges that affect multiple disciplines.
  • Engage with internal and external team members, including subcontractors and vendors, as necessary.
  • Utilize advanced technical knowledge and principles to address cybersecurity challenges.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology Systems or Cybersecurity (or a related field).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in C4ISR/IT/IA-related roles; additional experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with NIST RMF methodologies.
  • At least 3 years of experience utilizing eMASS IT Security Controls.
  • TS/SCI Clearance is required from day one.
  • CISSP Certification or equivalent senior-level accreditation in Information Assurance.
  • Maintain an IAM Level III Certification.
