Position Summary

The Lead Vehicle Service Specialist role calls for your extensive experience and technical knowledge to effectively diagnose drivability and electrical systems. You will leverage your leadership and mentoring abilities to guide a team towards enhanced customer satisfaction and care.

Sign-on Bonus: $2,000 for first-time hires

Key Responsibilities

Customer and Vehicle Service (85%)

  • Conduct road tests on vehicles before and after service work.
  • Perform inspections on assigned vehicles following established procedures and report findings to management.
  • Assist and mentor fellow technicians in diagnostic and repair tasks.
  • Clearly communicate mechanical diagnoses and necessary repairs to non-technical individuals.
  • Execute advanced and complex repairs in areas such as brakes, electrical systems, engine performance, and more.
  • Keep management informed of mechanical repair issues as they arise.
  • Carry out additional duties as required for efficient store management.
  • Maintain proficiency in BSRO methods, standards, and procedures.
  • Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on automotive diagnosis and repair techniques.
  • Maintain necessary certifications and licenses.

Miscellaneous Functions (15%)

  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the service area.
  • Monitor the efficiency of tools and equipment, coordinating maintenance as needed.
  • Adhere to safety policies and regulations.
  • Participate in required meetings and training sessions.
  • Provide on-the-job training for new team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Physical Demands

The role involves various physical tasks, including:

  • Handling and moving tires and automotive parts, which may weigh between 11 lbs. and 66 lbs.
  • Performing tire service tasks, including mounting and balancing.
  • Executing oil changes and fluid services, which may require lifting and maneuvering equipment.
  • Conducting alignments and brake services, necessitating physical strength and dexterity.
Work Environment

The work environment may vary, with exposure to:

  • Cold and hot conditions depending on the season.
  • Slippery surfaces and various automotive chemicals.
  • Use of hand, power, and air tools for repairs.
