Pulmonary Care Specialist Job Description

As a Pulmonary Care Specialist at CHRISTUS Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to critically ill adults, pediatrics, and neonates. Reporting directly to a physician with minimal supervision, you will be responsible for performing patient assessments and implementing respiratory care plans.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough patient evaluations to identify respiratory-related issues.
  2. Institute effective respiratory care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  3. Perform various technical and diagnostic procedures, including ventilator management, airway support device management, and chest film analysis.
  4. Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care.
  5. Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
  6. Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives to enhance departmental efficiency and patient satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • 1-3 years of experience in critical care settings preferred.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.

Salary Estimate: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
