Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Hamilton Health Care System. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians and advanced practitioners with patient examinations and treatments, preparing patients for procedures and collecting laboratory specimens as needed.
  • Conduct patient interviews, take vital signs, and record information in patient charts, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, providing clear instructions and explanations of treatment plans and medications.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and assist with business operations, clerical tasks, and medical records management as needed.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and achieve team goals.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required; Medical Assistant program accreditation preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required; National Certification exam (AAMA, NHA, NCCT) certification preferred.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a clinical setting preferred; intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in an outpatient clinic and acute healthcare setting, interacting with adult, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients with various medical conditions. The successful candidate will be able to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.
