About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Polysomnographic Trainee to join our team at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. As a Polysomnographic Trainee, you will develop competency in and perform basic sleep testing procedures and associated interventions under the direct supervision of a sleep technician or technologist.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of sleep testing procedures and protocols
  • Perform basic sleep testing procedures and associated interventions
  • Work under direct supervision of a sleep technician or technologist
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High school diploma or GED plus six months of direct patient care experience or one year of post-secondary education (minimum 2 semesters of college)
  • Current enrollment in an accredited educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology
  • Possession of another healthcare credential/license AND enrollment in and completion of program or ASTEP course and advancement to technician level within 18 months of hire
  • Completion of, or enrollment in, an ASTEP program or equivalent as approved by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine/Board of Registered Polysomnography Technologists within 18 months of hire
  • CPR/BLS certification
