Position: Aerospace Component Fabricator and TIG Welder
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $21 - $38 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule: 4x10 Shift - 5am start (Monday to Thursday)
Role Summary:
The Aerospace Component Fabricator will be responsible for a range of operations including welding, assembly, and inspection of aerospace sheet metal components in a dynamic work environment. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in at least one skill set and a willingness to develop additional skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare components for furnace loading, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
- Assess load configurations for optimal batch sizes and compliance with furnace specifications.
- Manufacture load thermocouples as required.
- Execute moderate to advanced fitting and welding tasks in line with established practices.
- Complete the Exotic Metals TIG weld training program or possess equivalent experience.
- Maintain necessary certifications and qualifications for Exotic Metals welding.
- Perform drilling, reaming, countersinking, and riveting to assemble sheet metal sub-assemblies to precise tolerances.
- Utilize hand and power tools for scribing, grinding, deburring, sizing, and fitting parts.
- Conduct spot-welding, seam-welding, poke tacking, and braze preparation.
- Address repairs for weld defects, assembly issues, and surface imperfections.
- Operate manufacturing machinery relevant to aerospace processes.
- Verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools.
- Ensure compliance with specifications, tolerances, and standards outlined in sketches and blueprints.
- Maintain up-to-date certifications as a Quality Assurance Inspector.
- Interpret and adhere to written instructions, sketches, and manufacturing documents.
- Document inspection results accurately.
- May provide training to others based on prior experience.
- Work with minimal supervision while meeting operational efficiency standards.
- Continuously assess and improve quality and processes within the work area.
Working Environment:
Demonstrate safe operation of equipment and adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves.
Physical Demands:
This role requires significant physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, balancing, and material handling.
